Inkjet Controls

Inkjet controls and User Header labels are available when printing labels to a file with Mail Manager 2010.

Indicates whether Stacker options are used.

User-defined search code

 

 

Available for Videojet VIP III / IV / NT file types. A 10-character field used for postal or user-defined information. Click Expression Builder to enter a value.

User-defined demographic code

Available for Videojet VIP III / IV / NT and Quad / Graphics file types. A four-character field that corresponds to the Makeup Code field in Videojet VIP III / IV / NT files and the version_code field in Quad / Graphics files. These codes instruct the inkjet that you want to handle specified pieces differently (e.g., use a different message or insert). If this option is not selected, the Makeup Code is set to the value of the Videojet Makeup Code field, if one exists in the list layout. Click Expression Builder to enter a value.

User-defined pack break

Inserts pack breaks based on user-defined criteria.

User-defined sack break

Inserts sack breaks based on user-defined criteria.

Ideal stack or bundle size

Indicates number of pieces to print before rotating the stack. Used for thick pieces that do not stack properly without reversing piece orientation after a number of pieces.

Minimum stack or bundle size

Determines minimum acceptable stack size. When the number of pieces left at the end of a pack falls below minimum stack size, those pieces are added to the previous stack.

Maximum stack or bundle size

Indicates maximum size that will be used when making stacks.

  User Header Labels

  One of the following file types must be selected to view these options: Admark, Diconix, Kodak, SCITEX.

Include User Header Label 1

Includes UHL1 at the beginning of each tape.

Include User Header Label 2

Includes UHL2 at the beginning of each tape.

First image position

The distance from the leading edge of the mailpiece to the leading edge of the printed image. The value is entered in tenths of an inch and can range from 005 to 320 (i.e., .5” to 32”).

Piece length

The length of the mailing piece in tenths of an inch. This value can range from 050 to 999 (i.e., 5” to 99.9”).

Lines per label

The number of lines contained on each label.

Label image width

The total width of the label, including margins (in characters).

Left margin trim

The number of characters to be considered for the left margin.

Right margin trim

The number of characters to be considered for the right margin.

Skip on tape read error

Skips the current piece and continues trying to read if an error occurs while reading the tape.

Skip blank pieces

Skips blank labels and continues printing with the next non-blank label. If this option is left unchecked, printing will halt if blank pieces are encountered.

Enable pack breaks

Places ASCII character 11 in the top-right of the last label in a pack.

ZIP orientation

Feeds image upside down (i.e., ZIP Code first).
