Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI) |
Many non-USPS carriers add a surcharge for packages delivered to residential addresses. Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI) provides information that can help you determine the best way to ship packages with minimized shipping costs.
RDI determines whether an address is a residential or business address, using either a 9-digit ZIP + 4 Code or an 11-digit ZIP + 4/Delivery Point Code. This option is used in addition to ZIP + 4 Encoding.
RDI data files are only available through the Postal Service, and USPS licensing is required to receive RDI data files. For more information on RDI data files, contact the USPS National Customer Support Center at (800) 238-3150 or refer to this USPS page.
For details on the RDI option for Mail Manager 2010 or Mail Manager 2010 LE, call (800) 337-0442 or visit BCC's RDI option page.
