Drop Ship Discounts
Many mail categories or preparation methods are not currently tested under the PAVE program. For instance, some of the
steepest postal discounts go to mailers who transport mail directly to postal facilities closer to their destination
address instead of to their local Post Office. These are referred to as BMC, SCF, or DDU discounts,
reflecting the types of facilities receiving the mail.

Mail Manager 2010 automatically calculates drop-ship discounts.
Plant-Verified Drop Shipments
Larger mailers commonly have postal acceptance clerks permanently assigned to their own facilities. In these cases, Drop
Ship mailings are accepted and validated at the mailer's facility instead of having to be delivered to the local Post
Office. It's a significant time- and resource-saver — as long as you’re able to deal with the complex extra
paperwork. Mail Manager 2010 prepares and prints the required PS Forms 3602-C, 8125 and 8125-C.

Mail Manager 2010 prepares your PVDS paperwork for you.
Palletized and Other Advanced Mail Preparation Categories
Larger mailings are typically presented to the Post Office on pallets following special sorting rules. Even if you don’t
currently need palletization capabilities, it’s a good idea to be sure your software has that capability for the future.
(Why limit your potential for growth?)
The same applies to such important mail classes as Parcel Post,
Bound Printed Matter, Media Mail, and Library Mail.
You may not need these special services now, but unless your software provides an upgrade path, your future choices may be
unnecessarily limited.
With that in mind, available options for Mail Manager 2010 support tray-, package-, and sack-based pallet preparation
methods and Bound Printed Matter,
Parcel Post, Media Mail and Library Mail. These options enhance 2010’s functionality
simply and easily: no new training, just new capabilities.
