USPS® CASS™ and DPV™ processing are essential tools for reducing undeliverable mail and increasing a mailing's delivery rate.
But many address records revealed as “broken” by CASS / DPV can be repaired and returned to a mailing for prompt and efficient delivery.
Address Resolution Service (ARS) from BCC Software will do this advanced detective work, and let you put bad addresses to good use.
ARS employs state-of-the-art technology and unparalleled database access to hunt down and correct address data that have been deemed undeliverable
by standard CASS encoding. Using the Data Services Wizard within Mail Manager 2010 / LE, it’s simple to electronically submit these undeliverable
records for ARS processing. Addresses that can be corrected are quickly returned (in by 5pm EST, back by 9am the next business day) for easy
re-integration into your mailing lists.
The essential resource for turning undeliverable addresses as good as new.
Mail Manager 2010 has ZIP + 4® and DPV encoded your mailing list, and any addresses deemed undeliverable by the USPS are
flagged for removal. Now what do you do?
Omitting the records from the mailing will save printing and postage costs while forgoing potential contact with would-be customers. On the other hand,
mailing to those addresses will incur both increased postage rates and the high likelihood that they will be returned Undeliverable as Addressed (UAA)
mail—assuming they’re not simply trashed by the Postal Service™.
OR ... for just pennies per address, a new service can try to restore these UAA records to their proper, mailable health. Using Address Resolution Service
(ARS) from BCC, an average of 30 percent of UAA addresses submitted can be returned to peak deliverability: fully USPS compliant addresses, ready to be
included with your regular mailings. You’ll still be doing your part to reduce the costly problem of UAA mail—but without sacrificing potentially
profitable addresses in the process.
ARS employs the address correction resources of Experian to compare your submitted names and addresses to a wide variety of database sources. Using complex
matching algorithms, matches are found and added to a list of corrected data that is returned to you—along with a new CASS report that ensures mailpieces
sent to those addresses will receive the discounted postage rates they deserve. (Missing apartment or suite number details are found and appended, as well.)
Like any other BCC Data Service, lists can be submitted for ARS processing and retrieved easily via the Data Services Wizard found in Mail Manager 2010 and LE.
UAA records from multiple lists can be conveniently combined into a single file (for maximum economy, only non-DPV confirmed records or those lacking apartment
numbers may be submitted for ARS processing). Best of all, BCC’s prepaid pricing schedule (above) provides scalable savings: the more processing you
purchase in advance, the lower your rates.
As USPS deliverability regulations become increasingly strict, there’s no reason to let the size and scope of your mailings suffer. Give your address
data every chance to work for you, with Address Resolution Service from BCC Software.
