BCC Software Earns USPS ZAP Certification

New Zone Analysis Program saves time and money for Periodical mailers

using Mail Manager 2010 and Mail Manager 2010 LE software products

Rochester, NY — BCC Software, a leading developer of high-performance PC-based solutions for professional mailers, this week announced that Mail Manager 2010 and Mail Manager 2010 LE, the company’s flagship products, have earned Zone Analysis Program (ZAP) certification from the United States Postal Service® (USPS®). A new USPS certified standard, ZAP certification determines whether a presorting product complies with current USPS zone designations used in Periodical mailings, and automatically assigns the correct zones using the most up-to-date zone data.

Mailers using a ZAP-certified presorting software product such as Mail Manager 2010 can now bypass time-consuming annual audits that were previously required in order for a Periodical mailing to be eligible for USPS rate discounts. ZAP confirms that the presorting tool is using the most current USPS zone charts to assign correct zone designations during a presort — enabling Periodical mailers to obtain maximum Postal discounts while saving time and production resources.

The most recent updates, shipped in October, include all required changes for ZAP certification, with the date of the current zone table added to the Qualification Report and Postage Statement 3541.
