BCC Software Partners with trackmymail.com to Expand Mailing Services for BCC Customers
Powered by trackmymail.com technology, BCC’s new Where’s My Mail service will provide an easy method of monitoring mailpiece delivery

Rochester, NY — BCC Software, a leading developer of high-performance software and solutions for professional mailers, today announced a partnership with trackmymail.com that allows BCC to offer an integrated mailpiece-tracking service, called Where’s My Mail, to BCC customers.

Where’s My Mail will give users of Mail Manager 2010 — BCC’s flagship presorting and list-management product, acclaimed throughout the PC-based mailing technology market for value, innovation and ease of use — with a simple yet powerful method to process United States Postal Service ( USPS) Planet Code information, and monitor the delivery details of mailpieces.

Since its founding in 2000, trackmymail.com has grown to be the preeminent Planet Code tracking service for the professional mailing industry. Trackmymail.com is a Web-based system that supplies users with a Planet Code number and USPS documentation, and reports on tracking results to keep mailers informed as to when mailpieces reach their destinations. With this data, trackmymail.com users can measure mailing effectiveness and better coordinate marketing efforts, among other uses.

In all, trackmymail.com technology has been used to track more than 2.5 billion mailpieces since 2000.

The Planet Code is an additional barcode that is part of the USPS's Confirm program. Confirm tracks Planet Codes every time they pass through a barcode sorter. The Planet Code identifies the mailer, and the scanning data is transmitted to account holders. The Confirm program began as a test in 1998 and became fully operational in 2000.

Where’s My Mail will initially be accessible exclusively via BCC’s online Customer Portal, with integration into Mail Manager 2010 targeted for 2005. Beta testing with interested Mail Manager 2010 users will take place in October, and an official launch of the service is scheduled for the week of November 8, 2004, at the MAILCOM industry conference in Anaheim, CA.

“We’re excited to be working with trackmymail.com to offer Where’s My Mail to our users, ” said Ted Seward, BCC Vice President of Marketing. “Trackmymail.com has become the leader in providing Planet Code processing solutions. This is another way for us to extend our products and services, and optimize postal solutions for our clients.”

“BCC and trackmymail.com are a natural fit,” Dave Lewis, President of trackmymail.com, said. “BCC is, in my view, the strongest mailing software provider in the professional mail house market, and trackmymail.com is the go-to resource for mail tracking. Working as partners just makes sense.”
