BCC Software Offers Handheld Barcode Readers

The VisionSensor 2020 and 2030 are highly portable units designed to maximize on-the-fly barcode data verification

Rochester, NY — BCC Software, a BÖWE BELL + HOWELL company and a leading developer of high-performance solutions for professional mailers, announces the availability of the VisionSensor™ 2020 and 2030 barcode readers. The VisionSensor 2020 and 2030 can instantly scan and interpret all commonly used postal codes—including POSTNET™ and PLANET® barcodes, and the new USPS® Intelligent Mail® (formerly 4-State Customer) barcode—plus an array of 1D and 2D barcodes found in business and industry.

The VisionSensor 2020 and 2030 are equipped with rugged industrial handles and ergonomically designed for easy use: simply point a unit at a barcode, pull the trigger, and get the reading. While mailers will still have to verify that their barcodes meet postal regulations, the units will ensure that a barcode is readable and verify the data therein.

The VisionSensor 2020 and 2030 include USB cabling and a rugged grip handle. All scanned codes are stored in the reader so they can be downloaded to a computer via the USB cable. The VisionSensor 2030 also comes with a graphic display so codes can be read immediately, and a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery and rugged cellphone-style keypad that enables maximum portability. A rechargeable battery is optional for the VisionSensor 2020.
