BCC Software Receives U.S. Postal
Service NCOALink
Limited Service Provider Certification
First such Postal Service certification will
allow BCC to provide a smooth transition to NCOALink processing for users of BCC MOVE Update services
Rochester, NY — BCC Software Inc has received
United States Postal Service® (USPS®)
certification as a Limited Service Provider of
NCOALink, a new Postal Service (TM) technology product.
This certification allows BCC to offer NCOALink technology as part of BCC MOVE Update services,
an array of USPS-certified processes that can
improve the overall quality of list data for
professional mailers.
BCC’s was the first NCOALink Limited Service
Provider Certification granted by the Postal
Service.
Ultimately replacing the current National Change
of Address (NCOA) and FASTforward® systems
of Move Update processing, NCOALink is designed
to provide wider access to the U.S. Postal Service® Change
of Address (COA) database, using a secure process
that enhances security of COA information. NCOALink
technology allows mailers to update their lists
with address changes before they are entered
into the mail stream.
As a proactive Move Update process, it is a
preferred method for satisfying USPS Move Update
requirements when seeking postage discounts for
First-Class Mail®; in fact, the periodic
use of this process can speed delivery and minimize
costly Undeliverable As Addressed mailpieces
for any mail class.
BCC MOVE Update services are available to licensees
of BCC’s Mail Manager 2010 mail-preparation
software. Clicking a single button in the 2010
task bar delivers the user to a wizard-driven
interface that greatly assists the preparation
and submission of lists for the Move Update process.
With NCOALink processing assisted by the Mail
Manager 2010/BCC MOVE Update interface, longtime
2010 users familiar with NCOA or FASTforward processes should enjoy a nearly seamless transition
to this new technology.
“Customers will notice little
change beyond a new selection from the existing
Mail Manager
2010 wizard,” according to Mark Higgins,
Manager of BCC Data Services. NCOALink
will be added to BCC MOVE Update services as
soon as possible, but BCC will continue to offer
NCOA and FASTforward processing choices until
the USPS officially replaces them with the new
technology: on September 30, 2004 for NCOA, and
exactly one
year later for FASTforward Mailing
List Correction. (BCC MOVE Update services also
include Postal Service-certified Delivery Sequence
File Second Generation [DSF2 TM] and Locatable
Address Conversion System [LACS] processing.)
BCC Software was also recently certified by
the Postal Service as an NCOALink Interface Developer
and Distributor Licensee, enabling the incorporation
of this new technology into the popular MOVE
Manager option for Mail Manager 2010. Previously,
MOVE Manager users were licensed by USPS to process
lists in-house using the FASTforward database;
with the new certification, NCOALink technology
will replace FASTforward in this product, providing
a smooth transition for current licensees and
the most up-to-date address-updating technology
for future users.
Licensing fees for BCC’s Mail Manager
2010 starts at $995.
