BCC Software Inc Adds Geocoding Feature
to
Acclaimed Mail Manager 2010 Software
Allows individual list entries to be encoded
with latitude/
longitude data
for specific geographic targeting
Rochester NY --- BCC Software
Inc has added a new feature to its powerful Mail
Manager 2010 software — one that
literally puts users on the map.
Beginning with the October 2002 update of Mail
Manager 2010, users can access a geocoding feature
that allows targeted mailings based on geographic
locations. The feature has been seamlessly integrated
into Mail Manager 2010’s mail preparation
and data management program at no additional cost
to users.
Unlike some geocoding applications that reference
five-digit ZIP codes only, BCC’s latitude/longitude
feature uses more precise ZIP + 4 codes to ensure
the most specific geographic targeting possible.
(ZIP + 4 lookup and assignment has long been an integral
feature of Mail Manager 2010.) The geocoding feature
will allow Mail Manager 2010 users to actually
append latitude and longitude data to their address
files or retrieve all address records within a
customizable distance from a user-specified reference
point.
Other advanced selections are also possible.
Combining Mail Manager 2010’s powerful calculated
expressions feature with geocoding a user for example,
could generate a mailing to the five thousand addressees
closest to a given location.
For nearly 25 years, BCC Software’s products
and services have been acclaimed for both their
top quality and their innovative, solution-based
perspective toward addressing the many needs of
the mailing industry.
“By building this robust geocoding feature
right into Mail Manager 2010 at no additional cost
to our customers, we’re making an already
invaluable mailroom resource even more useful,” says
President and Chief Executive Officer K.
Jon Runstrom. “Now,
users can geographically target a mailing without
having to rely on complicated third party solutions.
This is another example of BCC’s innovative
approach to serving the professional mailing
community.”
